If you are looking for a great vacation spot in the good old USA, why not try Alaska. Many of the cities can only be reached by plane or boat, there are no roads leading in or out. Even though Alaska is a popular tourist state it doesn't feel touristy. They say its the last frontier and when you see it you will know why. Its stunning!
You can go dog sledding on a glacier, go for a ride on a float plane over the ice fields, go for a walk in the rain forest, go bear watching or just sit back and enjoy the view.
If you go in the summer months the weather is very pleasant. Here's a few pictures from a trip I made up there.
